Hi there! Thank you for visiting my blog.
I am currently a 3rd year New Media student at Ryerson University. I am strongly passionate about communication through media and I want to learn as much as possible to broaden my creative experience. I have worked in retail so I have experience with customer service and I have worked as a lifeguard at The Boulevard Club for 5 years. I am passionate about living an active and healthy lifestyle as well as spending quality time with my family, friends and loved ones. I have proficient knowledge of Microsoft office applications, Google docs and Gmail with working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites, Processing, and Final Cut Pro editing software.
Through my experience as a student in the Faculty of Communications and Arts at Ryerson, I have chosen to volunteer my time working with organizations related to my field of study. I have been lucky enough to participate in a project with TIFF through my faculty, in which I worked with a team to create a interactive art piece for TIFF Kids digiPlayspace 2015. My program is currently collaborating with the Ontario Science Center to build an art piece, which I am very excited to be apart of.
In high school I was in the IB film program. This is an international higher-level program where we learned great time management skills, about using technology and using the world around us as inspiration. It was a difficult program but I enjoyed it. Throughout the program I created many short films focusing on challenging topics such as discrimination and mental health issues.
I would like to focus in the future on producing and editing. In the long run I could see myself working in the PR, communications world, using the skills I learn from New Media to create new and innovating ways of thinking.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me! I would love to hear any comments or feedback you may have.
